Another New Mass Effect Game Leaked
While official details about the new Mass Effect game, which is still in development, are limited, the studio’s commitment to the series is becoming increasingly evident. The use of plural terms for the Mass Effect series in a recent job posting from BioWare strongly hints that not just one but multiple new projects are planned. The possibility that the studio has shifted its focus entirely to Mass Effect, especially after the difficulties it faced following Dragon Age: The Veilguard, further fuels expectations.
BioWare’s Striking Hint for New Mass Effect Games
BioWare’s new job posting has once again drawn attention to the Mass Effect series in the gaming world. The studio is currently hiring for a “Lead Level Designer” position, and the job description includes the phrase “future gaming experiences for the Mass Effect universe.” The plural use of the word “experiences” suggests that not only the main game in development but also other projects may be in the works.
This statement is being interpreted as a sign that BioWare will not be limited to a single game in the Mass Effect series. The failures of recent years, particularly the Dragon Age series’ lack of anticipated popularity, make it a logical move for the studio to refocus on its most highly valued IP: Mass Effect. The series’ long-standing, loyal fan base further reinforces this decision.
Although BioWare has yet to make an official announcement, the studio’s statement “We are developing experiences for the Mass Effect universe” isn’t simply a traditional hiring strategy. Rather, it could signal that they are working on a variety of content and perhaps new types of Mass Effect projects. Mobile games, standalone short stories, or spin-off games could be among these “experiences.”
Of course, all of this is based solely on leaks and speculation. However, the studio’s hiring for such a critical position suggests that new and perhaps unexpected adventures in the Mass Effect universe are on the way. Official announcements from BioWare are eagerly awaited.
