ARC Raiders Takes Steam Charts to the Ground
Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders has rocked the gaming world even before its release. The game, which officially launches on October 30th, has already topped Steam charts by reaching nearly 200,000 concurrent players during its latest free test. It currently stands as the platform’s most popular extraction shooter.
ARC Raiders Sets Major Pre-Release Record
Developed by Embark Studios, ARC Raiders has garnered significant attention as the latest project from the team we know from The Finals. The game follows loot hunters trying to survive in a world devastated by a robot invasion. Played from a third-person perspective, the game quickly captivated players with its cooperative combat and risk-reward approach.
The “server slam” test, launched last week, was designed to test the developers’ server infrastructure. However, the test saw much greater interest than expected. According to Steam data, ARC Raiders reached 189,668 concurrent players during the test period, making it the highest-player extraction shooter on the platform.
By comparison, Arena Breakout: Infinite had 66,000 players, Gray Zone Warfare 72,000, and Dark and Darker 57,000. ARC Raiders nearly tripled these numbers, placing it at the top of the genre. This result suggests the game could reach a much larger audience at launch.
ARC Raiders, which will be released on October 30th, has also earned Embark Studios the title of “most successful pre-early access test.” The development team states that it is working on server balances and gameplay improvements based on community feedback. If this momentum continues, ARC Raiders could soon be considered the new leader of the genre.
