Are GTA IV and Max Payne 3 Coming to Next-Gen Consoles?
Among Rockstar Games’ classic productions, GTA IV may be returning for the next-generation consoles. According to a new leak, an updated version of the game has been in the works for a while. The same source claims that Max Payne 3 may also join this wave of updates.
GTA IV and Max Payne 3 Ports May Be On The Way
According to Tez2, known for his closeness to Rockstar, an official from the studio previously hinted that GTA IV was being reworked for the next-generation consoles. It is claimed that this port has been in development for about a year and could be released before the end of 2025. It is also said that the removal of the Liberty City Preservation Project mode from GTA V may be related to this claim.
However, the rumors are not limited to GTA IV. It is stated that if Rockstar continues with its past plans, Max Payne 3 could also be re-released for modern consoles. These games could be offered as a single package, along with the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake projects developed by Remedy Entertainment. In this way, a “Definitive Edition” collection that appeals to both nostalgia and new players could emerge.
There have been various re-release rumors for GTA IV before, but they were not made official. Nevertheless, the postponement of GTA VI to 2026 may have created an opportunity for Take-Two and Rockstar to evaluate this period. Players can keep their interest in the series alive with a quality GTA IV port during this period.
These developments have not been made official for now. However, in order to avoid repeating the technical problems experienced in the previous Definitive Edition example, a possible release is expected to be prepared more carefully. All eyes are now on a possible announcement from Rockstar.
