Atari 2600 Pac-Man Returns in Yellow
In a development sure to bring a smile to the faces of retro enthusiasts, Atari is re-introducing the iconic ’70s game console, the Atari 2600, this time with a Pac-Man theme. Blending both a nostalgic touch and modern technology, this new version is not just a game console, but also a colorful tribute to gaming history. Designed specifically for Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary, the yellow version promises to excite retro enthusiasts.
A Colorful Return with the Pac-Man-Themed Atari 2600+
The new Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition is equipped with modern features such as HDMI output, USB power, and different screen resolutions. But what truly stands out is the console’s complete yellow finish, replacing its classic wooden design. The front panel features bright details depicting Pac-Man and his ghostly friends, while the cartridge port and buttons are also designed in yellow tones to match the theme.
Plaion, the manufacturer, emphasizes that this special edition isn’t just a console, but a nod to the beginnings of home gaming. Inside, it’s a cartridge that’s sure to elevate your nostalgia: it combines the original Pac-Man 2600, released in 1982, with a new version of the classic arcade game, the Pac-Man 7800.
This special edition console, available for pre-order starting July 23rd, is priced at £129.99. In addition to the console itself, the bundle also includes a yellow wireless CX-40 joystick and a Pac-Man Double Feature cartridge.
For those who consider the joysticks collectible, there are also extra options. In addition to yellow, they will also be available separately in four different ghost-themed colors (Inky Blue, Blinky Red, Pink Pink, and Clyde Orange). Each will cost £29.99.
