Atomfall Expansion Coming This Week
Atomfall, which was released in March, quickly received positive reviews, demonstrating Rebellion’s success in creating narrative and atmosphere. Now, the game’s first major expansion pack, Wicked Isle, is coming out on June 3. The DLC, which comes with new story missions, sections, and enemies, also adds alternative endings to the main game.
Atomfall Wicked Isle Offers New Areas and Enemies
The Wicked Isle expansion takes players to Midsummer Island. In order to get to this dark and dangerous island, you need to contact the boatman at the pier in Wyndham Village in the main game. The boatman gives players the first clues about the island and provides a transition to the expansion content. The developers state that the story was inspired by the game’s theme of folk fear.
New enemy groups to encounter on the island include pirate raiders and infected druids. Players are given new weapons to survive: the devastating Blunderbuss shotgun, a new bow, swords, daggers, and a unique weapon called the “Beekeeper’s Staff”. Each of these weapons appeal to different playstyles and will play an important role in the struggle given on the island.
Not only weapons, but also the character development of players is deepened with this expansion. Thanks to new abilities, players can fight more effectively or gain an advantage while exploring. An improved metal detector will also be a great help for those looking for loot. This new tool makes it easier to find hidden loot on the island.
Wicked Isle will be available for free for those who own the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Upgrade Pack of Atomfall. Players with the standard edition will be able to access the expansion separately for $19.99 / £14.99. With the expansion, Atomfall is preparing to offer an even richer experience in terms of both content and gameplay.
