What Players Can Expect from Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7

Despite releasing in a stacked year defined by several major titles, Baldur’s Gate 3 made history by winning Game of the Year at every major awards show. It brought the isometric RPG genre to a mainstream audience, and succeeded in living up to the tremendous legacy of Baldur’s Gate 2.

Lately, Larian Studios revealed that they will move on from Baldur’s Gate franchise and go on with other game releases but they did teased new stuff for Baldur’s Gate 3 as well. These include new campaign endings and just like previously revealed, official modding tools.

With Patch 5, the developers famously provided an epilogue to Baldur’s Gate 3, while Patch 6 improved on character romance content. By contrast, Patch 7 is meant to be the other side of the coin compared to Patch 5, and it will introduce several new scenes for players who finished an evil playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3.

With Patch 7, Baldur’s Gate 3 will get enhanced evil endings, along with official modding tools. This official modding tools will keep the game’s activity, along with easier mod creating, since fan created mods can be broken between patches. This support will prevent it’s happening.

Patch 7 will also bring a laundry list of technical fixes to the game. Jaheira will no longer randomly jump into combat, and Wyll’s conversation greetings to characters who are romancing him will also be improved. Furthermore, the Narrator will no longer disappear in pivotal scenes, such as during the confrontation between the Dark Urge and Gortash in the third Act of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Besides Patch 7, Larian Studios has announced that the developers are working to bring Crossplay and a Photo Mode to Baldur’s Gate 3. However, it may still be some time until those features come to the game. Larian Studios has also previously revealed that they are not planning any DLC releases for Baldur’s Gate 3 and they are also begun working on two new projects. Hopefully they will release more information about them soon.
