Batman: Arkham Knight Sequel Concept Art Revealed

New details have emerged about the planned sequel to Batman: Arkham Knight called Project Sabbath, which was canceled years ago. Previously unseen concept drawings of this project developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal were shared on social media. Characters such as a bearded Bruce Wayne, Damian Wayne, Killer Croc and The Huntress stand out in the drawings.

New Clues About Batman: Arkham Knight Sequel Project Sabbath Emerged

The first rumors about the existence of Project Sabbath emerged in 2016, and the developer studio was Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The original plans envisioned Bruce Wayne’s son Damian Wayne as the new owner of the Batman cape. The drawings leaked in 2019 and 2021 showed an elderly Bruce Wayne and a devastated Gotham City. It was also claimed that the game would use the Nemesis System, which we know from the game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The newly leaked drawings belong to character designer Rodrigue Pralier, who worked at the studio between 2014 and 2015. Although the artist’s ArtStation page has been removed, the visuals have reached players via social media. The concepts feature Damian Wayne’s new Batman design, detailed drawings of a bearded Bruce Wayne, and characters such as Killer Croc and The Huntress.

After Project Sabbath was canceled, the studio focused on the not-so-popular Gotham Knights game. This project also failed to satisfy fans and received mixed reviews from critics. Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game similarly failed to meet expectations. Following all these developments, Warner Bros. decided to restructure its studios and focus on core brands.

It is not known whether Project Sabbath will ever be revived, but the leaked concept drawings once again show how different an experience this canceled game could have offered Batman fans.
