Battlefield 6 and Valorant Won’t Run Simultaneously

A curious issue encountered by players during Battlefield 6‘s open beta has generated significant buzz. Those attempting to run both Battlefield 6 and Valorant simultaneously were met with unexpected error messages on their computers. Initially mistaken for a technical glitch, this issue was actually revealed to be a conflict between the two games’ anti-cheat systems. Players are wondering whether this issue will be permanent or temporary.

Anti-Cheat Conflict Between Battlefield 6 and Valorant

Phillip Koskinas of Riot Games’ anti-cheat team confirmed that the issue stems from the way Battlefield 6’s Javelin anti-cheat and Valorant’s Vanguard system work. Koskinas explained that while the two systems are fundamentally compatible, Battlefield 6 doesn’t allow it to run while the Valorant client is open. This is because both drivers attempt to protect game memory using the same method, thus mistaking each for a potential threat.

Battlefield 6 and Valorant Won't Run Simultaneously

During last weekend’s Battlefield 6 open beta, many players received an error message due to this conflict. The solution is simple: Battlefield 6 runs flawlessly when Valorant is completely closed. While the likelihood of players running both games simultaneously is low, this suggests that similar anti-cheat systems may encounter conflicts in the future.

Electronic Arts announced that Javelin blocked more than 330,000 cheat attempts in its first weekend. The company stated that this was the largest open beta in the Battlefield series. Vanguard is known to use similar methods requiring deep system access.

No changes are expected to the operating logic of either system. However, as kernel-level anti-cheat technologies become more widespread, it is anticipated that such conflicts between different games’ security solutions may become more frequent.
