Battlefield 6 Is Overrun With Cheaters

Battlefield 6, one of the most anticipated games of the year, encountered a major problem less than 24 hours after its release. Cheaters and hacks infiltrating the game’s multiplayer modes have sparked outrage within the community and sparked debate about EA’s new security system, Javelin.

Battlefield 6 Fails to Combat Cheaters Despite Its Anti-Cheat System

The sixth game in the series launched to great acclaim after a long wait, reaching over 740,000 players on Steam alone. However, this record-breaking popularity was quickly overshadowed by cheaters and bots. Videos shared on social media clearly show some players using aim-assist software to target unseen targets. Furthermore, because Battlefield 6 lacks a killcam, these cheaters can play for extended periods without being detected.

EA’s new “Javelin” anti-cheat system was theoretically quite powerful. It operates at the kernel level, requiring access to the deepest security layer of a computer. However, even this high level of security failed to prevent cheaters from infiltrating the game. Furthermore, some users reported that Javelin conflicted with Valorant’s Vanguard system, forcing them to uninstall their games.

During Battlefield 6’s open beta, EA announced that 330,000 cheat attempts were blocked in the first two days alone. However, the picture is bleaker in the full release. While players shared screenshots of cheater-infested servers on social media, EA has yet to make an official statement.

Despite these issues, Battlefield 6 topped the Steam sales charts. During the game’s launch, EA App servers were overwhelmed, with some users waiting for hours in the queue system. EA aims for Battlefield 6 to reach 100 million players in the long term. But the community is worried: If the cheating problem isn’t resolved soon, this goal may only remain on paper.
