Battlefield 6 Will Reach 120 FPS on Consoles

Battlefield 6 is preparing to offer players a next-generation combat experience. According to new information shared by EA, the game will be able to reach up to 120 FPS in Performance Mode. This ambitious technical target is seen as an exciting development, especially for console users.

Battlefield 6 Pushes the Limits with Performance Mode

EA’s new promotional email states that Battlefield 6 will be able to reach frame rates of up to 120 FPS on consoles with Performance Mode enabled. This performance level is quite rare on consoles. While some games, like 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, have only come close to this level, this claim is quite remarkable considering the massive maps, destructible environmental details, and high visual quality that Battlefield 6 offers.

Battlefield 6 Will Reach 120 FPS on Consoles

DICE and EA previously announced their “consoles first” strategy for this new game. Following increasing cheating issues, particularly on PC, the studio focused its optimization efforts on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Now, this approach appears to be paying off in terms of performance.

Beta tests conducted by Digital Foundry have already observed Battlefield 6 reaching up to 110 FPS on PS5. Average performance was reported to be in the 80-90 FPS range. This suggests that the 120 FPS target is achievable in the final version of the game, especially thanks to new hardware like the PlayStation 5 Pro. However, to truly experience this frame rate, players will need a 120Hz-supporting monitor or television.

Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10, 2025. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its open beta, held in August, was recorded as the largest testing period in the series’ history. It also surpassed even the Call of Duty HQ app’s Steam concurrent player count.
