Battlefield Is Afraid of Making Mistakes in Its New Game
Preparations for the new game in the Battlefield series are continuing rapidly. After the painful launch of Battlefield 2042, EA and DICE are aiming for a smoother launch this time. According to reliable sources, the game is currently in the extensive testing phase and continues to be developed in line with the feedback received from players. It is stated that the new game is supported by one of the largest resource investments in EA’s history in order not to repeat the series’ past mistakes.
Battlefield’s Past Problems
The Battlefield series has frequently been on the agenda with its unsuccessful launches in recent years. Battlefield 2042 disappointed its fans with missing features and technical issues. For example, a basic feature such as a multiplayer scoreboard was added months after the game’s release. This caused the game to be one of the worst-reviewed productions on Steam. Previously, Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 4 had similar issues and were the target of criticism.
EA announced that four different studios (DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion) are working on the project to prevent a similar situation this time. This situation stands out as the largest resource investment allocated for a game in the history of the series.
It is rumored that the new Battlefield game will take place in a modern environment and may include a story mode. It is also stated that a free battle royale mode is in the testing phase. It is stated that these innovations aim to both win back old fans and attract new players.
EA and DICE attach great importance to player feedback. Extensive tests conducted before the launch aim to detect and solve potential problems of the game early. However, it is not yet known whether all these efforts will be enough for the game to have a successful launch.
