Is New Game of Thrones Game on the way?
Game of Thrones had previous video game adaptations before. Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series showed a lot of promise, but it was canceled after one season when Telltale Games closed in 2018. Meanwhile, one of the highest rated Game of Thrones titles with an 84% Metacritic score is Reigns: Game of Thrones, which is a strategy game with a swiping mechanic similar to a dating app.
According to a report by Redanian Intelligence, Nexon is reportedly working on a new Game of Thrones MMORPG. The still untitled project is said to be an online game, which is similar to Diablo Immortal’s format. The report also claims that players can choose between male and female characters, which may mean they’ll play customized characters and not as one of the original Game of Thrones characters.
This Game of Thrones game story is currently unknown but it’s expected to be set in the North, with Winterfell and The Wall as the main settings, and the timeline will be between Seasons 4 and 5. It adds that other kingdoms will be featured as well, but there’s no information about them yet.
Nexon is known for developing the popular MMORPG MapleStory, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Game of Thrones game. Currently these informations are not confirmed by any developers, so take these informations with a grain of salt.
