Black Myth: Wukong DLC May Be Unveiled at Gamescom
Despite launching almost a year ago, Black Myth: Wukong continues to garner significant attention. A recent social media post by the Game Science team has taken this interest to a whole new level. The studio announced that they will perform at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th, fueling the community’s anticipation for new DLC with their use of imagery and text. The fact that the Xbox version of the game will be released just one day after the event has further fueled the rumors.
Black Myth: Wukong to Perform at Gamescom
Game Science’s post featured frightening creatures, calligraphic touches, and mystical elements. The text in the image was interpreted by community members as “In this world, the extraordinary is ordinary; ‘gods and demons’ often wear respectable disguises.” This detail has sparked the possibility of new content directly related to the story among fans.
Another striking element was the August 20, 2025, date in the image. This date falls one day after the event, raising the possibility of a “shadow release.” Some players believe the Black Myth: Wukong DLC could be released immediately following the reveal.
When Black Myth: Wukong launched in August 2024, it stood out for its atmosphere, gameplay depth, and visual quality, bringing it to the Soulslike genre. Since then, players have expressed intense demand for expansion packs or additional missions. The possibility of DLC is seen as the most compelling step that could directly address these expectations.
Game Science has yet to officially confirm any new content. However, both the Gamescom participation and the date details in the post have heightened community expectations. All eyes will be on the August 19th event.
