Black Myth: Wukong Gets PS5 Pro Patch
Black Myth: Wukong broke sales records and attracted attention with its impressive visuals when it was released in 2024. However, PS5 users complained about technical issues such as frame rate locks and low resolution. Developer Game Science has released a new patch to address these issues. The game, which has added PS5 Pro support, offers a clearer image with PSSR technology, while noticeable improvements have been made to the base PS5 version.
Black Myth: Wukong Experience on PS5 Pro
With the new patch, Black Myth: Wukong on PS5 Pro offers a close to 4K image from 1296p resolution thanks to PSSR technology. This improvement provides a clearer image, especially during movement. There are also some improvements in shadows and Lumen lighting technology. In terms of performance, quality mode offers a stable gameplay at 30 FPS lock, while balance mode provides an experience targeted at 40 FPS.
One of the most notable innovations for PS5 users is the sharpness setting added to the game. Players can now adjust the image sharpness to the desired level. Performance mode continues to offer gameplay with a target of 60 FPS at 1080p resolution, but frame-gen technology is still active. This technology can cause input lag in fast action scenes.
In Quality mode, the resolution has been reduced from 1440p to 1080p, but visual improvements such as higher-quality shadows and increased vegetation shooting distance have been made. The frame rate is fixed at a stable 30 FPS. Balance mode can be played with a target of 45 FPS, but for players with 120Hz screens, a smoother experience is offered by being fixed at 40 FPS.
Although Game Science brings significant improvements to the game with this patch, players are demanding a 60 FPS mode independent of frame generation technology. The development team is expected to take more steps in this regard in the future.
