Black Ops 7 Skins Leaked Before Release
Black Ops 7, the highly anticipated new installment in the Call of Duty series, has once again generated buzz even before its release. This time, the topic of discussion isn’t the game’s story or gameplay, but rather the leaked content of the special edition, known as the “Vault Edition,” on social media. The shared images reveal the costumes that will be available to players on launch day, sparking mixed opinions about the series’ future.
Black Ops 7 Costumes Spark Pre-Release Controversy
The leaked content includes a modernized Transit bus driver costume, a robot design with a rotating heart animation, a soldier in an armored exosuit, and a fully digitally generated female character. These designs have sparked speculation that the Black Ops series is moving away from military realism and toward a more colorful and futuristic style.
This approach creates a significant difference compared to Battlefield 6, the other major FPS game due to release at the end of the year. Battlefield 6 design director Shashank Uchil previously stated that the new game would have a “realistic” style like Battlefield 3 and 4 and would not feature comic-book-style costumes.
Data mining leaks for Battlefield 6 also reveal that all cosmetics in the game are designed with military equipment and designs appropriate for the battlefield. This is considered an indication that the series is taking its community’s expectations into account.
Black Ops 7, on the other hand, offers players a variety of unusual and eye-catching cosmetics on its release day, demonstrating a more flexible and fun design approach. With the two major franchises facing off later this year, not only gameplay but also cosmetic preferences are likely to be intensely debated among players.
