Blades of Fire Announced for PS5 Xbox Series and PC
505 Games and MercurySteam have announced the highly anticipated action-adventure game Blades of Fire. The game, which will be available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms, will be released on May 22, 2025. The game is priced at $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99. Blades of Fire, which is now available for pre-order, aims to offer players a unique combat and weapon customization experience.
Blades of Fire: Story and Features
Developed by the award-winning team at MercurySteam, Blades of Fire invites players to a world full of danger. The game’s protagonist, Aran de Lira, stands out as the last hero who can use steel. Along with Adso, a young scholar by his side, he embarks on a fight against a magical queen. Players will be able to customize their weapons with a special system called “Forge Scrolls” to gain an advantage over their enemies.
The game’s highlights include seven different weapon types and over 30 Forge Scrolls. This will allow players to create an unlimited number of weapon combinations. In addition, tactical fighting mechanics will be used according to the enemies’ different armor and attack styles. Choosing the right weapon for each enemy type will be critical to success.
Players will explore giant castles, labyrinthine palaces, and enchanting locations on Aran and Adso’s dangerous journey. Adso will help players during battle by analyzing enemies with his knowledge of ancient languages and myths. The game includes intriguing story elements such as the transformation of steel into stone with Queen Nerea’s magic.
505 Games President Neil Ralley stated that the game will attract attention with its weapon customization mechanics and narrative. The first trailer and screenshots of Blades of Fire have been released. Players are eagerly waiting for this new adventure. The game will also be available on the PC platform via the Epic Games Store.
