Bully Online Is Getting Real But Something’s Wrong

Rockstar Games’ 2006 cult title, Bully, is finally getting an online version—but it’s not as official as one might expect. The fan-made Bully Online promises multiplayer exploration, racing, minigames, and plenty of chaos. But there’s a slight catch: the game is being developed entirely by a mod team, not Rockstar.

Bully Online Is Fan-Made, But It Looks Real

Developed by renowned YouTuber SWEGTA, Bully Online brings a multiplayer system to the original 2006 game. SWEGTA announced the project, which they’ve been developing for years, with a trailer on YouTube. It appears Rockstar and Take-Two have turned a blind eye to the project for now.

The trailer clearly shows that Bully Online offers a completely overhauled experience. The game isn’t just about wandering around the school; it also features shopping cart races, group battles, boxing tournaments, and even skateboarding stunts with dwarf statues. The team says the game is “fully customizable” and that they will continue to add new minigames in the future.

SWEGTA has launched a Ko-Fi campaign to support the project. The team states that they are making things that were long considered “impossible” possible. “We can now do things we couldn’t even imagine years ago,” the YouTuber explained. “We’ve even created an official server for Bully Online, and we’ll be making it available to everyone soon.”

While the project seems exciting, there’s cautious optimism among fans. Take-Two has taken harsh legal action against similar mod projects in the past. There are currently no copyright restrictions, but how long this situation will last remains uncertain.

Still, Bully Online is a dream project for fans of the classic game. If Rockstar continues to allow this initiative, players will be able to return to Bullworth Academy with their friends after all these years. But anyone familiar with the past has one question on their mind: Will Take-Two truly stay silent this time?
