Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Free for a Week

Activision made a surprise announcement for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. During the free trial week, which begins on October 9th, players will be able to experience the game’s campaign, multiplayer, and zombie modes without any restrictions. However, the choice of this date appears to be more than just a gesture to players; it appears to be a strategic move.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Free Trial Period Challenges Battlefield 6

The fact that the free trial week coincides with the release of Battlefield 6 has been notable. In the gaming community, this has been interpreted as Activision’s quiet marketing move against EA. Battlefield Studios’ recent advertising, emphasizing “realistic military cosmetics,” has further inflamed the rivalry between the two series.

Shortly after these criticisms, Activision announced that it would simplify its cosmetic approach in Black Ops 7. However, now, by offering Black Ops 6 for free, it appears to be aiming to draw players away from Battlefield 6. This is considered one of the clearest examples of the chilling rivalry between the two major FPS franchises.

During Black Ops 6’s free week, players will have access to all game modes. Special Halloween-themed missions, costumes, and cosmetics will also be available during the event. Earned content will be transferable to Warzone, but not to Black Ops 7.

This campaign, launched just before the new game’s release, offers players a nostalgic opportunity and serves as Activision’s final push against Battlefield. It appears Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has no intention of extinguishing the flames of competition, even as it nears its finale.
