Call of Duty Classics Re-Ranked
The Australian Classifications Board has released new age ratings for Activision’s two classic FPS games, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. This move has brought the possibility of the games being re-released to the agenda. This move has excited fans, especially as news of remasters or re-releases of classic titles has increased recently.
A Development That Excited Call of Duty Fans
Although the new age restriction decisions made for these two iconic Call of Duty titles do not directly point to a remake or remaster project, they are seen as a strong signal. This move usually indicates an impending re-release process. Similar steps were previously taken in the Black Ops series, which was followed by a remake.
Modern Warfare 2 and 3 are among the most beloved and best-selling games in the series. These two productions, which are especially remembered for their scenario modes and multiplayer structure, could attract great attention if they are re-released with modern technologies. In addition, the recent nostalgia trend has increased the demand for old games. Activision also seems to be aware of this interest.
Some sources also associate Activision’s move with Xbox Game Pass plans. If the company wants to transfer its extensive library to Game Pass, it is quite possible that it will bring such classics back to the agenda. In addition, the previously released “Modern Warfare Remastered” example went through similar processes.
No official statement has been made by Activision at the moment. However, the emergence of rating documents suggests that an announcement may not be too far away. Call of Duty fans can prepare to play these two classic games again. Especially on new-generation consoles, re-experiencing them with modern graphics can be attractive for many players. All eyes are now on Activision’s next step.
