Camila Mendes’ Teela Costume Revealed
New images from the live-action Masters of the Universe film, which is currently being shot in London, have revealed Camila Mendes, who plays Teela, in costume for the first time. The actress, known for her role in the Riverdale series, was seen filming action scenes with Nicholas Galitzine on set. In the film, Teela is expected to take Prince Adam, who has lost his memory, from Earth to Eternia.
Teela Seen in Costume for the First Time
Teela has been one of the most iconic figures in the MOTU universe since day one. Known as Prince Adam’s protector and He-Man’s closest ally, the character was previously portrayed by Chelsea Field in the 1987 film. In the Netflix animated series, she was first voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar and then Melissa Benoist.
Camila Mendes’ costume in the film remains true to the classic white and gold design while also featuring modern touches. The costume references the 1980s animated series while being updated to suit today’s aesthetic. Leaked set images show Mendes actively participating in action scenes.
The cast is just as striking as the costumes. Morena Baccarin will play The Sorceress in the film, while James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley will play Adam’s parents King Randor and Queen Marlena. Alison Brie will play Evil-Lyn, while Idris Elba will play Man-At-Arms and Jared Leto will play Skeletor.
The project, which was previously being developed at Netflix, was canceled in 2022. However, with recent developments, the film moved under the roof of Amazon/MGM Studios. With the involvement of Bumblebee director Travis Knight in the project, the production regained momentum. Masters of the Universe will meet the audience in theaters on June 5, 2026.
