Cancelled Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion Leaked
Recent leak revealed that CD Projekt Red was working on a Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion which will take place on the Moon.
Cancelled Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion
Since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the game got a lot of critism because of it’s problematic release and from the first release day, game kept becoming better with released updates. Lastly, Cyberpunk 2077 received a DLC content called Phantom Liberty. But it looks like this was not the only planned content for the game, CD Projekt Red planned more but turns out it was cancelled.
An anonymous user on 4chan posted a handful of images that allegedly depict pieces of concept art for an unreleased Cyberpunk 2077 expansion that would’ve taken place on the Moon. These photos show off, among other things, potential set pieces, overviews of the Moon location, and file repositories. According to the leaker, CD Projekt Red was apparently going to make the colonies on the Moon places that players could visit in the base game, but due to being overly ambitious, the content was cut and saved for a later expansion. However, it seems that this rumored DLC was canceled in favor of prioritizing development on the well received expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom LIberty, which was released in late 2023.
The Moon would be perfect place to explore but it looks like this content is cancelled and most likely it won’t be released, at least for Cyberpunk 2077, maybe in the next projects, CD Projekt Red might use these. The developer confirmed back in May 2024 that development on the sci fi RPG had finally ended after more than three years of content updates, with the studio now moving on to projects like The Witcher 4.
