Cancelled James Bond 007 Game Leaked
A trailer for a game that was planned to bring the adventures of legendary spy James Bond to the LEGO universe but was canceled has been leaked to the internet. The images that emerged have excited and saddened fans at the same time.
Why Hasn’t the LEGO James Bond 007 Game Been Released?
The trailer, shared by Reddit user kecskecske6, includes excerpts from a James Bond game demo that Traveler’s Tales presented to the LEGO Group in 2016. The trailer recreates iconic scenes from movies such as Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, and The Man with the Golden Gun in LEGO format.
Traveler’s Tales has previously achieved great success with original LEGO games featuring Marvel and DC superheroes, as well as Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones. This trailer, which shows how the studio will adapt its unique sense of humor to the world of James Bond, looks quite interesting, even though it is not complete.
Unfortunately, the LEGO James Bond project could not be realized. According to a Reddit user, a former Traveler’s Tales employee stated that the game was rejected by the LEGO Group due to the violence and sexuality in the James Bond movies. Targeting a family-friendly audience was quite difficult considering characters with names like Pussy Galore.
In recent years, LEGO has released sets for more adult-oriented projects, including James Bond. It brought together 007 and Aston Martin in a No Time to Die-themed set. It is not known whether this will pave the way for a LEGO James Bond game, but fans think such an idea could be really fun.
On the other hand, 007 Legends, released in 2012, was Activision’s last James Bond game and brought together James Bond’s greatest adventures at the time of Skyfall’s release. Unfortunately, the game was not well-received by critics and was seen as one of the reasons why Activision moved away from James Bond games.
