Capcom Revealed Their Popular Titles’ Sale Numbers
Capcom has revealed their popular franchises’ sale numbers, providing fans with some insight into how the legendary studio’s games have fared over the past year.
Sale Numbers from Capcom’s Franchises
The year started off with a bang for Capcom, with February’s Monster Hunter Wilds instantly becoming a major hit and a potential Game of the Year contender. At release, the action RPG pulled in over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam, with even more flocking to the title on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Capcom announced soon after that Monster Hunter Wilds had become its fastest-selling game to date, with fans continuing to praise the title’s story and vast open world. Now, more information has come to light regarding the company’s many other popular franchises and how well they have sold as 2025 reaches the halfway point.
Capcom Series Lifetime Sales Figures (as of March 31, 2025)
- Resident Evil – 170 million copies
- Monster Hunter – 120 million copies
- Mega Man – 43 million copies
- Street Fighter – 56 million copies
- Devil May Cry – 33 million copies
- Dead Rising – 18 million copies
- Ace Attorney – 13 million copies
- Dragon’s Dogma – 13 million copies
- Marvel vs. Capcom – 12 million copies
- Onimusha – 8.7 million copies
- Okami – 4.6 million
Given these sales figures, it’s no surprise that Resident Evil 9 is in the works, with Capcom recently teasing the title in a video celebrating the success of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Details about the game remain scarce, including its release window, though some leakers have pointed to the ninth entry being an open-world title. More information is expected to be revealed by the end of the year.
During The Game Awards 2024, fans were shocked to learn that an Okami sequel was in development and being led by the original game’s creator. The title will directly follow the events of the first game and is being developed on Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, which was also used to create Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6. No release date has been confirmed.
