Capcom Warns Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters
Capcom announced in a new statement for Monster Hunter Wilds that serious measures will be taken against unauthorized data editing. The company warned players not to play modded missions, and said that such fraudulent content not only disrupts the balance of the game, but can also make some parts completely unplayable.
New Anti-Cheat Warnings for Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom announced that they detected fraudulent data in High Rank missions following the 1.010 update released for Monster Hunter Wilds. In a post shared on the company’s official social media accounts, players were advised to immediately stop the game if they encounter a suspicious mission. Capcom stated, “Data changes may affect the normal game experience and may make some parts completely unplayable.”
The shared visual also shared ways to recognize modded missions with players. These include missing monsters, unusually high item limits, and more than six reward slots in single-target missions. Capcom also announced that additional measures will be taken in future updates to detect such data. Players were warned that they should exit the game without saving if they suspect a modded mission.
The free Title Update 1, released at the beginning of April, added new missions where players tried to get the fastest hunting time. However, Capcom also issued a warning at the time that cheating could be done in the rankings. The company stated that accounts that engage in actions such as using external software and cheats will be suspended and the times obtained will be considered invalid. It was stated that strict monitoring will continue in order to keep the game fair and enjoyable.
