Charlie Cox Goes After Console for Clair: Obscur Expedition 33
The latest gaming sensation, Clair: Obscur Expedition 33, has garnered rave reviews from critics and become a fan favorite. It even managed to rank among the highest-rated games of all time on Metacritic. However, despite this remarkable success, a striking detail stands out: Charlie Cox, the game’s renowned voice actor, hasn’t even played Expedition 33 yet!
Cox: “I Need to Get a Console, I Feel Like a Fraud”
Charlie Cox, known for his work on the Daredevil series, shared his feelings about the game in a candid interview at GalaxyCon. Cox, who voices Gustave in the game, expressed his admiration for the project and said that the last game he played was Super Mario 64—almost 30 years ago!
Cox stated that he was amazed by the game’s visuals while at the studio, saying, “It’s beautiful; the visuals are incredible.” However, not having played a game since then has prevented him from experiencing Expedition 33. “I need to play the game. I need to get a console first. I only did the voice-over, but I feel like a bit of a fraud,” he said, not hiding his sincerity.
The accomplished actor also heaped praise on the studio: “These guys aren’t a giant company, they don’t make a lot of games, but they’ve done a fantastic job.” He commented on the game being nominated for Game of the Year, saying, “This is really cool.” Someone get Charlie Cox a console, a PS Plus or Game Pass membership, and of course, a copy of Expedition 33! Maybe even a Switch 2. After all, a lot has changed since Mario 64.
