Chris Pratt’s Garfield Series Returns
The Garfield Movie, which released last year and grossed $260 million worldwide, is returning with a new sequel. Chris Pratt will continue voicing Garfield, and the project will be produced by Alcon Entertainment and distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures.
Preparations Begin for the Garfield Sequel
It has not yet been confirmed whether Mark Dindal, who directed the first film, will return. However, producers John Cohen and Steven P. Wegner, as well as Alcon co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, will be back on board. This time, Chris Pratt will not only provide the voice talent but will also serve as a producer.
Jim Davis, creator of the Garfield character, will also serve as executive producer on the second installment of the series. DNEG Animation will also be working on the animation side. This team aims to maintain the same high quality of the first film’s impressive visuals. Prime Focus Studios will also be a production partner.
Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, and Nicholas Hoult, who starred in the first film, are expected to rejoin the cast. However, no official casting announcement has been made yet. It’s also questionable whether Keeley Hawes, who voiced Lara in the film, will return.
A definitive release date hasn’t been announced yet for the new Garfield film. However, since the project has been officially announced, new details are expected to be released in the coming months. This new adventure of the lazy, sarcastic, and lovable cat Garfield is poised to attract a wide audience to theaters once again.
