Counter-Strike Comes to Life with CS: Legacy

There is exciting news for Counter-Strike fans. An independent remake project developed by community members called CS: Legacy has been announced. This new game aims to revive the core mechanics and nostalgic atmosphere of Counter-Strike 1.6 with modern technologies. The team undertaking the project consists of developers who worked on CSPromod between 2008-2012 and this time they are preparing to offer a brand new experience with a completely customized code base and game assets.

Details of the CS: Legacy Project

CS: Legacy is being developed based on Valve’s 2013 Source Engine SDK. However, the developers have created their own special branch by making major changes to the engine. These changes include a custom rendering system, physics-based shading (PBR), a revamped reflection system, and a completely customized user interface. In addition, all models, textures, sounds, and animations for the game are being redesigned from scratch.

In the early access version of the game, players will encounter the iconic maps Dust2, Nuke, Train, Poolday and Aim_map. The development team aims to develop the project full-time by collecting support through Patreon. Supporters will be able to receive special Discord badges, signed collectible posters and beta access.

The CS: Legacy project has received great support from the Counter-Strike community. This project, which combines the nostalgic Counter-Strike experience of the past with modern graphics, aims to bring old and new players together. The developers are accepting donations via Patreon and PayPal to advance the project faster.

Although the developers have not yet announced a definite release date, the early access version is expected to meet players soon. CS: Legacy aims to rekindle the love for the Counter-Strike series and present the classic spirit of the game with a modern touch.
