Cyberpunk 2077 world is expanding
Even though Cyberpunk 2077 launch was so loud, CD Projekt Red never gave up fixing the game and made successful DLC. There is even an anime that takes place in the Cyberpunk world. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix was well received by fans and critics and won several major awards, including Anime of the Year from Crunchyroll.

CD Projekt Red has announced in a press release that they have partnered with Anonymous Content for a live-action Cyberpunk project. Anonymous Content has produced Emmy-winning series such as Mr. Robot and True Detective and Academy Award-winning films, including The Revenant and Spotlight. CD Projekt Red is searching for a screenwriter “to tell a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.”
It was not mentioned in the press release whether the project will be a series or a film, as this is still in early development. However, CD Projekt Red did mention they were collaborating with Anonymous Content Studios’ Head of Television Garret Kemble and others at the studio, including Chief Creative Officer David Levine, who was involved in early Game of Thrones seasons during his time at HBO.
This makes it seem like the project will be a series, but they will probably wait to hear from screenwriters about their ideas before deciding whether the project will be a series or a film. It is also unknown if the project will end up on Netflix like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or if it will go to a different streaming service.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is out for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
