Dead Space 4 Proposal Rejected by EA
Dead Space series creator Glen Schofield announced that they presented a proposal to Electronic Arts (EA) for the fourth game in the series, but EA did not approve of the project. Schofield explained that they developed the idea of Dead Space 4 with Bret Robbins and Christopher Stone from the original game’s creative team and held a meeting with EA this year. However, EA rejected the proposal due to financial reasons and focusing on their current projects.
Hopes for a Return for Dead Space 4 Are Diminishing
Schofield stated in his statement that the meeting they had with EA was not an in-depth discussion. “We presented them our idea, but they said they were not interested in the project at this time,” Schofield said, expressing that they respected EA’s financial priorities and current plans. However, he added that the team continues to work on new ideas for Dead Space 4.
Although the remake of the Dead Space series, released in 2023, received positive reviews from critics, sales figures did not meet EA’s expectations. This situation increased the uncertainty about the future of the series. It was stated that despite Motive Studios’ desire to develop a new Dead Space game, these plans were shelved due to low sales.
Dead Space fans have a great desire for the series to continue. EA’s decision has caused disappointment among fans. However, the team still hopes to be able to bring Dead Space 4 to life in the future. Schofield still leaves fans with a glimmer of hope by saying, “Maybe one day this project will happen, who knows.”
While it remains unclear whether Dead Space 4 will happen, fans are waiting for EA to reconsider its decision to revive this iconic series. The hope of returning to the Dead Space universe seems to have been shelved for now.
