December’s PlayStation Showcase Expectations May Have Been Unfulfilled
The highly anticipated PlayStation Showcase or State of Play event is rumored not to be set for December. According to renowned gaming commentator Jeff Grubb, we should not expect a PlayStation Showcase in December. Grubb says it would be best for fans to keep their hopes low.
No PlayStation Showcase in December?
PlayStation recently released a trailer for “Play Has No Limits” featuring the date December 3, 2024, which many consider to be a harbinger of an upcoming event. This date also marks the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation platform. Sony’s celebratory moves, such as limited edition special consoles, have raised gamers’ expectations for a big announcement.
However, Grubb said on Twitter that he hasn’t heard of any major PlayStation Showcase or State of Play events in December. Grubb backed up this sentiment on Game Mess Mornings, saying that his sources are almost certain that there will be no showcase on December 3rd.
PlayStation gamers, especially when expecting big announcements on certain dates, should keep in mind that these expectations may not always be realized. PlayStation’s decision-makers and gamers may not always see eye to eye. Therefore, those expecting a big PlayStation Showcase later this year should keep their expectations low to help minimize disappointment.
