Dementium: The Ward Coming to PC
Cult horror game Dementium: The Ward is finally coming to PC. Developer Atooi announced that the game will be released on Steam. While a definitive release date hasn’t been announced yet, the announcement has generated considerable excitement among series fans. Previously available on the DS, 3DS, Switch, and PlayStation platforms, the game will now be available on PC in a remastered version.
Dementium: The Ward Returns with a Remastered Version
Released for the Nintendo DS in 2007, Dementium: The Ward became known as one of the games that redefined the horror genre on portable consoles. Players take control of a character with amnesia and embark on a terrifying journey through an abandoned hospital. This atmosphere, combined with limited resources and a suspenseful soundtrack, creates a uniquely terrifying experience.
The new PC version preserves the classic experience while boasting significant technical improvements. Developer Atooi announced that the game’s visual effects have been improved, controls have been modernized, and performance optimizations have been made. However, the game’s greatest strengths, the dark atmosphere and unsettling environment design, will remain faithful to the original.
Players will awaken in a hospital filled with secrets around every corner and enter a nightmarish narrative. With only improvised weapons and limited ammunition, survival becomes even more challenging. Every sliver of light, every echo, every drop of blood will slowly reveal the dark secrets of the past.
Dementium: The Ward, like Silent Hill and Amnesia, features psychological horror elements. The game is not just about survival, but also about experiencing a character’s mental breakdown. In this respect, it aims to offer a horror story that is both nostalgic and modern.
While a release date has not yet been announced, the game is expected to be available for pre-order on Steam soon. Coming to PC after many years, Dementium: The Ward invites horror lovers back to the gates of hell with its dark atmosphere and unsettling details.
