Detective Themed Pera Coda Officially Introduced

Turkish game studio Elyzio and its subsidiary Falan have announced their new project Pera Coda, which combines detective and psychological elements. This isometric narrative adventure set in the historic Pera district of Istanbul focuses on both local textures and universal emotions. While it is stated that the game will be released for PC and some consoles, the exact release date has not yet been announced.

A Journey Between Time and Identity with Pera Coda

In the game, you take on the role of Deniz, a lawyer stuck between life and death. The story focuses on an existential struggle where Deniz comes to terms with her past in a cycle where she is stuck in her own subconscious. Each cycle is the stage for the character’s psychological disintegration and confrontation with her regrets, while the decisions made by the players and the puzzles they solve shape the progression of the story.

Pera Coda is designed especially for players interested in mature and narrative-focused stories. There are no combat mechanics or grind elements in the game; instead, exploration, dialogue and environmental puzzles are at the forefront. This approach makes it easier for the player to establish an emotional connection, while deepening the narrative with simple and intuitive controls.

The game’s atmosphere draws attention by approaching classic detective themes with a neo-noir aesthetic. The developers blend the chaotic and serene aspects of Istanbul, which reflects both eastern and western cultures, and make each area a reflection of the character’s inner world. Neon-lit streets, scenes inspired by real places and an art direction adorned with symbolic elements are presented.

Pera Coda promises an emotionally intense experience both visually and thematically, with a narrative structure inspired by games such as Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds and 12 Minutes. When the game is released, the streets of Istanbul will not only be a background, but also a character that reflects the player’s state of mind.
