Devil May Cry Returns with Season 2
Devil May Cry, adapted from Capcom’s beloved game series, received critical acclaim with its first season on Netflix. While the surprising twists left in the finale left viewers with many questions, the first announcements about the series’ second season have finally arrived. The short trailer has fueled excitement for the new season and made the wait even more exciting.
Devil May Cry Season 2 Trailer Released
The trailer shared by Netflix revealed that the second season will air in 2026. The trailer particularly highlighted the clash between Dante and his twin brother, Vergil. Following the events of the first season’s finale, it’s already clear that this showdown will be central to the second season.
The series’ first season concluded with Dante and Mary defeating the White Rabbit and stopping the invasion of Earth. However, the finale, when Mary betrayed Dante and imprisoned him due to his abilities, was a major surprise for viewers. In the same scenes, we saw the beginning of the Hellish invasion and that the series’ future trajectory would be much darker.
Another key element of the teaser was Vergil’s return. It was revealed that the horned demon who mysteriously appeared in the first season was actually Dante’s twin. The inevitable conflict between the two brothers in the new season will take the story to a much more dramatic and action-packed level, making this one of the most anticipated developments for fans of the series.
Adi Shankar is behind the production, while South Korea-based Studio Mir is handling the animation. The studio, which has previously produced films like The Legend of Korra, Harley Quinn, and X-Men ’97, aims to combine action with powerful visuals in the second season of Devil May Cry. While the voice cast includes names such as Johnny Yong Bosch, Robbie Daymond and Scout Taylor-Compton, the death of Kevin Conroy, who voiced William Baines in the first season, in 2022 is remembered as a significant loss.
