Diablo 4 Team Talks About The Feature Players Have Been Waiting For
Diablo 4 players have been waiting for an explanation from Blizzard about the “loot filtering” feature that they have been requesting intensely since the game’s launch. Aislyn Hall, a member of the game’s design team, responded to this request in a Q&A event. Although Hall stated that the team was not completely closed to this feature, she emphasized that the current loot system was designed to be compatible with the game’s economic structure.
Why Wasn’t Loot Filtering Added to Diablo 4?
Blizzard stated that the loot collected by players in Diablo 4 was designed not only to be used, but also to contribute to the game’s economy by being broken down. Hall said, “We designed the loot system so that you can use every part of an animal right now. We want every item that drops to be valuable to players, regardless of its context.” However, he added that they did not completely close the door on the loot filtering feature.
This statement suggests that Blizzard’s hesitation to add loot filtering is based on the idea that players will quickly sift through loot and collect fewer items, thus reducing the contribution to the economy. However, players argue that it is difficult to cope with the influx of loot, especially in the late game, and that the feature has become a necessity.
Since the Diablo 4 team has been open to player feedback, it seems possible that loot filtering will be added in the future if the community continues to pressure on this issue. Blizzard, which has made many balancing and quality improvements every season in line with player demands, may take a similar step in this regard.
The next season of Diablo 4, Season 8, will be released on April 29. Although Blizzard has not yet announced the theme of the new season, the community is eagerly waiting to see if loot filtering will be added to the game with an update.
