Duet Night Abyss Release Date
Hero Games’ long-awaited action RPG Duet Night Abyss has announced its release date. The game will officially launch on October 28, 2025. When it was first announced in 2023, it quickly garnered over one million pre-registrations, generating considerable anticipation. Two closed beta tests, held in February and June 2025, gathered feedback on both the gameplay mechanics and the business model.
Duet Night Abyss Release Date Announced
The gacha system, a hotly debated topic among players, was completely removed after the closed beta tests. Hero Games abandoned the chance-based lottery model of earning characters and weapons and focused monetization on cosmetic content. This means that elements that affect the player experience will no longer be behind a paywall.
Producer Deca Bear explained this decision in an interview with Automaton:
“Player data, community feedback, and beta surveys showed us one thing very clearly: no amount of improvement to the gacha and stamina system could eliminate player dissatisfaction. That’s why we decided to make a drastic change.”
What Does It Mean for Players?
It was already known that Duet Night Abyss would be free-to-play. However, the removal of the gacha system brings a new dimension to mobile gaming. Now, players will be able to experience the game more fairly, with a cosmetics-focused model. This was well-received by the community and was interpreted as Hero Games’ player-friendly approach.
