Funcom unveiled gameplay from Dune Awakening at Gamescom Opening Night Live and announced its release for PC in early 2025. This massively multiplayer online game offers a true open-world experience set in the Dune universe.

Funcom’s new MMO Dune Awakening is set in Frank Herbert’s legendary Dune universe, but with a twist: in an alternate reality where Paul Atreides was never born. This promises a world that is unpredictable and gives players the freedom to create their own narrative.
In the gameplay trailer, you’ll explore your adventures on the planet Arrakis, starting in the villages of the Harkonnen, use Hunter Seeker drones – flying robot assassins – to gain the upper hand against your enemies, and engage in exciting raids while mining spices. The game will be coming to consoles after PC.
