Dying Light: The Beast Has Over 170 Types of Zombies
Techland aims to provide players with a more realistic and terrifying atmosphere in its long-developed Dying Light: The Beast. Originally conceived as DLC for Dying Light 2, the project will now be released as a standalone game. With the return of Kyle Crane, familiar from the first game, the zombies we encounter this time around look even more terrifying than ever.
Dying Light: The Beast’s Zombie Designs Draw Attention
Information shared by the production team reveals significant effort behind the game’s zombie designs. The artwork, designed by concept artist Charidimos Bitsakakis, prioritizes human-like realism, designed to evoke both unease and curiosity in players. The diverse body types, facial expressions, and behaviors will further enhance the game’s atmosphere.
The most common enemy type, with over 110 variations in total, will be Biters. These zombies have been transformed from the dry, mummified appearance of previous games in the series to become more bloated, wet, and realistic. Appearing in a variety of body types, Biters will sometimes exhibit surprisingly human-like reactions, providing players with chilling moments.
Another enemy group, Virals, will be featured in the game with approximately 60 different versions. These zombies, derived from the experiments of the game’s main enemy, the Baron, will be more aggressive than the average Biters. Some will spit acid, while others will display extraordinary strength. This will ensure that each encounter offers a unique experience.
The most dangerous zombie type will undoubtedly be Chimeras. Despite their small numbers, these creatures are among the deadliest enemies, presenting players with deformed musculature and grotesque designs. With their bare muscle tissue, dismembered jaws, and massive hands wielded like weapons, Chimeras will challenge players’ reflexes to the limit.
Dying Light: The Beast will be released on September 18th. Featuring over 170 different zombie types, each encounter will offer a new experience, and the game aims to raise the bar in the survival horror genre.
