EA Madden NFL 22 and FIFA 23 Deadlines Announced

Electronic Arts has announced that online services for FIFA 23 and Madden NFL 22 will end this year. The servers for Madden NFL 22 will be closed on October 20, 2025, while the servers for FIFA 23 will be closed on December 12, 2025. After this date, players will not be able to access online modes, content such as Ultimate Team, and online achievements. However, offline modes will remain playable.

FIFA 23 is of particular importance as it is EA’s last football game bearing the FIFA name. The end of support for this final game in the series means the end of an era that began in 1993 during the SEGA Megadrive era. In addition to these two games, UFC 3, NCAA 14 and various mobile games were also added to EA’s decommissioning list.

EA has also begun farewell preparations for Anthem, developed by BioWare and released in 2019. The game, which has a completely online structure, will be completely shut down on January 12, 2026. Anthem will not be accessible after this date.

The problems Anthem has experienced throughout its life, player loss and the canceled major update plan are among the main reasons for the decision to shut down. EA has already disabled in-game currency purchases for Anthem and announced that any remaining balances can be spent until January. The game will also be removed from EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on August 15, 2025.
