EA Won’t Increase Game Prices

Electronic Arts has taken a notable stance amidst the debate surrounding price hikes in the gaming world. As the countdown to Battlefield 6’s multiplayer mode continues, one of the most pressing questions for players has been the game’s price. According to new statements, EA will not increase the prices of standard games, including Battlefield 6.

EA’s Battlefield 6 and Pricing Policy Becomes Clear

EA CEO Andrew Wilson made important statements regarding game prices at the company’s latest financial meeting. While rival companies are planning to sell some of their games for $80, Wilson emphasized that EA has no plans to increase prices. Battlefield 6 is expected to launch with a price tag of $70.

EA Won't Increase Game Prices

Wilson stated, “Our current pricing structure is quite broad. We cover all levels of users, from free games to premium content. Our goal is always to offer players the best value,” adding that different pricing options will continue.

Higher-priced special editions like the “Phantom Edition” are expected to be announced for Battlefield 6. However, the standard edition will not be priced higher. EA will continue to cater to a broad audience with deluxe and collector’s editions.

Recent game price increases, particularly on consoles, have drawn criticism from gamers. EA’s decision not to increase prices during this period was both welcomed and served as an example for the industry. Xbox’s recent reversal of some similar pricing decisions suggests that user-friendly policies may become more widespread.

This approach from EA could boost player confidence in the company. Whether Battlefield 6’s pricing policy will be maintained once the game’s content is released remains to be seen. However, for now, it appears EA is focused on player satisfaction, not price competition.
