EA’s Silent Censorship of ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders, one of 2025’s most notable games, has garnered significant attention since its beta testing in April. However, typing the game’s name into Electronic Arts’ chat system unexpectedly results in the message being censored. This has become a topic of debate within the gaming world, and attention is now turning to the possible reasons behind this silent censorship.
ARC Raiders Name Invisible in EA Chat
This intriguing detail, noticed by X users, reveals that while many games can be typed normally in EA support chat, the phrase “ARC Raiders” is completely hidden. These messages appear only as “#### #######” in the system. However, no censorship is applied to major games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, or GTA.
It’s unclear whether this censorship was intentional. However, the fact that Patrick Söderlund, the CEO of Embark Studios and the man behind ARC Raiders, previously held senior positions at EA makes the issue even more striking. Before leaving EA, Söderlund was also CEO of DICE and played a significant role in the development of the Battlefield series.
Whether the censorship was a technical error or a deliberate choice on EA’s part remains unclear. The company has yet to release an official statement. However, Embark Studios’ pursuit of independent success under the Nexon umbrella may indicate an unseen tension between them and EA.
As users continue to debate this development on social media, ARC Raiders is expected to release in October. While the game’s exact release date remains unclear, this censorship incident could be a precursor to a quiet crisis ahead of launch.
