A new Epic Games Store free mystery game is expected to drop on December 29, December 30, December 31, January 1, and January 2, with the last one expected to be available for an entire week. At that point, the Epic Games Store will presumably switch back to its usual free game giveaways, which means users can expect new freebies on a weekly basis instead of daily, and the “mystery” element will go away.
Time will tell what happens with the final Epic Games Store free mystery games of 2024 and what’s in store for the launcher in 2025, but EGS users can claim Kill Knight for free in the meantime. Remarkably, Kill Knight launched just this past October, making it the newest Epic Games Store free game released as part of the mystery game promotion and by a significant margin. For those who may be unfamiliar with the game, Kill Knight is an intense, action-packed twin-stick shooter that earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, scoring an impressive 83 overall rating from critics, according to review aggregate site OpenCritic.
