Expedition 33 Team Prepares for New Project
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has managed to make Sandfall Interactive’s name heard in the gaming world as one of the most talked about games of the year. The studio’s producer François Meurisse announced that the project has been much more successful than expected and that the idea for a new game has already begun to take shape.
Expedition 33 Success Opens the Door to New Games
Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Meurisse stated that Expedition 33 has exceeded all expectations in terms of both sales and critic reviews. The fact that the game, which is one of the highest-rated games of the year on Metacritic, has attracted so much attention has been an important milestone, especially for a young team. Stating that the studio will “definitely make a new game” based on this success, Meurisse said that although he did not give any concrete details for the new project at the moment, ideas have begun to form.
It is not yet clear whether the new project will be a sequel to Expedition 33 or a completely different IP. However, according to Meurisse’s statements, the team will start the new project much more prepared thanks to the experience and skills it has developed during the production process of the first game. The studio, which was founded five years ago, initially consisted mostly of young developers, but now it has become an experienced team.
Stating that creative director Guillaume Broche is also full of new ideas, Meurisse said that these ideas are exciting and that the studio aims to raise the bar even higher in the next project. With the success and expectations brought by their first game, it is already expected that their new project will be more ambitious and impressive.
Although no official announcement has been made about the new game yet, the next move of Sandfall Interactive, which attracted attention with Expedition 33, is eagerly awaited. Time will tell whether players will see a new story set in the studio’s universe or whether we will step into a completely different world.
