Fairgame$ Doesn’t Look Very Promising With Its Gameplay
Developed as part of Sony’s live service game push, Fairgame$ has been largely silent since it was first announced. However, some information that has now emerged suggests that the game experienced much more problems than expected during its development process. Initial reactions indicate that the gameplay is clunky and unenjoyable.
Fairgame$ Failed in Tests
First introduced in 2023, Fairgame$ is being developed by Haven Studios and is described as a “competitive heist game.” However, according to Colin Moriarty, who spoke on the Sacred Symbols podcast, the game is currently quite problematic and clunky in terms of playability. Moriarty emphasizes that the preliminary tests conducted did not receive positive feedback from players.
During the game’s development process, a pre-alpha test was conducted under the code name “Project Hearts”, but the results were not very encouraging. This may explain why the game has not been updated for a long time. On the other hand, information has leaked from some reliable sources that the project has been postponed to 2026.
What happened for Fairgame$ is not limited to technical problems. The claim that one of the creators of the game, Jade Raymond, left the studio after the last playtest stands out as another development that has shaken confidence in the project. Considering Sony’s previously canceled multiplayer projects The Last of Us Factions 2 and God of War, it seems likely that this new game will share the same fate.
Although Sony continues to be determined about live service games, the current situation of Fairgame$ once again reveals the risky aspects of this strategy. While the fate of the game remains uncertain, it is a matter of great curiosity whether an update will come in the near future.
