FIFA 23 loot boxes sued for gambling

Austrian gamers sue Sony over FIFA 23 loot boxes
An Austrian court has ruled that FIFA’s loot boxes violate the country’s gambling laws, German publication GamesWirtschaft reports. The court has demanded an immediate full refund by EA to affected players.
No statement has been made by Sony and EA yet. However, EA, which faced similar lawsuits in previous periods, reversed the result from the appeals court and won. It is not known whether there will be a different result in this case, but we think that players should spend with this awareness.
FIFA 23 offers loot boxes in Ultimate Team (FUT) mode. Players can buy footballers with FUT points and make their teams stronger. They can also buy player cards for these points and try their luck. However, it must be said that this is a gamble.
