Fortnite Gets AI Darth Vader
Epic Games’ popular game Fortnite has added a new technological innovation. The game has started to feature the AI-supported Darth Vader character, and it is possible to chat with this character by voice or text. Moreover, Vader is no longer just an enemy, he can also form teams with players.
AI-Supported Vader Experience in Fortnite
This innovation, revealed by HYPEX, is based on a test process conducted by Fortnite with Google Gemini and ElevenLabs. For now, thanks to this system, which is only applied to Darth Vader, players can have an interactive experience with Vader’s reactions to them. Parental permission is required for young players who want to use the feature.
According to another reliable source ShiinaBR, the AI Vader not only answers, but also summarizes game events, warns players and can start a chat when necessary. He can even leave the team and rejoin at the player’s request.
However, the Darth Vader AI character has some limits. Topics such as V-bucks, sexual content, and harm to children are definitely excluded from the conversation. In addition, Vader cannot quote more than two lines from the Disney/Star Wars universe and is prevented from forming romantic relationships with players. However, he can also refer professional help if he detects mental conditions such as depression or anxiety.

After the battle, Darth Vader, who is “recruited” by the player, becomes your teammate.
