G.I. Joe Game Breaks Fundraising Records

The legendary G.I. Joe universe continues to resonate with nostalgia. From its collaborations with the Transformers universe to its cinematic projects, G.I. Joe is now back with a brand new strategy game. Developed in collaboration with Renegade Game Studios and Hasbro, G.I. Joe: Risk Special Missions has garnered significant success on Kickstarter, breaking donation records from the very beginning.

G.I. Joe Risk Takes a Storm

The new board game combines the classic Risk format with the G.I. Joe universe. Two to four players battle alongside Cobra or G.I. Joe, offering diverse missions and five main scenarios that increase the strategic challenge. Players choose one of 13 leaders, including Duke, Snake Eyes, or Cobra Commander, to manage their team.

The minifigure details are also impressive enough to please fans. Legendary vehicles like the Skystriker and Rattler, along with iconic elements like the USS Flagg and Cobra Island, make their way onto the board. All these pieces add both visual richness and tactical depth to the game.

While the game was initially available for pre-order, international funding shifted to Kickstarter. Despite this change, pre-orderers are eligible to receive both the game and the exclusive Leaders Bonus Pack. The bonus pack includes four new leaders, each offering unique strategies.

The “Yo Joe!” pack, available to backers, is priced at $70, while a $140 offer is also available exclusively for retailers. The campaign, which includes no stretch goals, quickly became overwhelmed with interest from G.I. Joe fans. It appears the G.I. Joe tabletop adventure is already poised to become a major hit.
