The problems were not limited to connectivity. Some players who purchased the original Gears of War: Ultimate Edition have still not received their free upgrade codes that would have given them access to the Reloaded beta. This has left many people completely out of the beta process.

Despite this, a small group of players who were able to enter the game stated that the new visuals and some gameplay improvements were satisfactory. Players who are experiencing Gears of War for the first time on the PlayStation platform also say they are amazed by the series’ iconic weapons.

The Gears community account announced that all technical issues were investigated throughout the weekend and that players will be notified regularly. It is not yet clear whether the beta period will be extended in the coming days. Fortunately, this test only covers the first weekend; there will be another beta opportunity next week.
