Gears of War: Reloaded Coming to All Platforms
According to Microsoft’s statement, Gears of War: Reloaded will be released on August 26 for Xbox, PC, and PlayStation. The development team states that they want to commemorate the past and reach a wider player base with this release as the series approaches its 20th anniversary. In this context, the game’s campaign mode will offer two-player co-op support; while the online multiplayer mode will support up to 8 people.
The game will offer full cross-platform play. This means Xbox, PlayStation and PC players will be able to come together on the same server. In addition, users who log in with a Microsoft account will be able to save their progress between devices, invite friends and benefit from cross-invite features. However, a basic cross-play experience will be provided without an account requirement.
There are also serious innovations on the technical side. Gears of War: Reloaded will offer 60 FPS campaign performance at 4K resolution and 120 FPS support in multiplayer mode. The atmosphere of the game will become much more realistic with advanced audiovisual features such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR, VRR and 3D audio support. The campaign experience will be uninterrupted thanks to the zero loading screen.
There is also good news for players who have purchased the previous version of the game digitally. The new version will be offered as a free upgrade to those who previously purchased Gears of War: Ultimate Edition digitally. These players will receive their digital codes from Xbox before the release date.
