Ghost of Yotei Release Date Announced
PlayStation has made the highly anticipated announcement for Ghost of Yotei, a new game set in the Ghost of Tsushima universe. The release date of the game developed by Sucker Punch was announced as October 2, 2025. The trailer released with the game, which will be exclusive to PS5, gives the first clues about both the story of the new character Atsu and the magnificent atmosphere around Mount Yotei. In addition, details about both the standard and collector’s editions were shared with players.
Ghost of Yotei Draws Attention with Both Its Story and Content
The standard edition of Ghost of Yotei will be available in the US with a price tag of $69.99. Those who pre-order the game will receive a special in-game mask and seven different PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yotei Six. This content aims to offer a thematic experience focusing on the game’s characters and concept design. The new game will travel to Japan in 1603 and the story will take place approximately 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima.
Sucker Punch has also announced a very comprehensive Collector’s Edition for collectors. In addition to the digital deluxe content, this special package includes a one-to-one scale replica of Atsu’s mask. The mask being the same size as Jin’s mask creates a visual connection between the two games. In addition, a 71-inch belt with the names of the Yotei Six, the tsuba of Atsu’s katana with twin wolf figures forged by his father, and a special stand are also included in the collector’s package.
The Collector’s Edition also includes fun details. The rules and coins for Zeni Hajiki, a skill game that can be played in the world of Ghost of Yotei, are included in this package. It also includes a foldable paper ginkgo tree, a base figure accompanied by a wolf, and four 5×7-inch special art cards. These cards feature the belt, wolf, Atsu’s mask, and the main visual of the game.
Sucker Punch, along with Ghost of Yotei, will take players to the Ezo region in northern Japan, or modern-day Hokkaido. Although not many details have been shared about the journey of the new character Atsu, the studio promises to offer an epic atmosphere and a world open to exploration in this new story. It has become clear with these statements that there will be a transition to a brand new era in this universe after Ghost of Tsushima.
