Ghost Recon Series Returns
Ghost Recon, one of Ubisoft’s important brands, has started to come to the fore again after a few years of silence. According to the company’s new calendar for its big projects, the new part of the series will enter the testing phase this year. The game, codenamed “Ovr”, seems to stand out from previous productions with both its gameplay structure and style.
Ghost Recon is Being Developed Under the Codename “Ovr”
According to the latest information, the new Ghost Recon game will enter alpha testing within the company in the fall of 2025. This process was planned as part of the development calendar that Ubisoft applies to its big brands. The full version of the game is expected to be released approximately 12 months after this testing period, in the fall of 2026.
It is stated that the new production will include intense military simulation elements for the first time in the series. It is stated that the game will be played from a first-person perspective and will be shaped around a fictional “Naiman war”. This shows that Ghost Recon aims to give a more realistic aspect to its usual tactical gameplay.
In the images that are not available to the public, the game is seen to have a structure reminiscent of productions such as Modern Warfare or Ready or Not. This situation indicates that Ubisoft wants to reposition the series. The new Ghost Recon, which prefers a darker and more intense atmosphere, is preparing to go beyond the classic action-oriented production.
It is not yet clear when Ubisoft will officially introduce the game. However, information from within the company suggests that this process will be kept secret for at least a year. It seems likely that the company will showcase the game with a large Ubisoft Forward event towards 2026.
